Who has ideas for a perfect beach wedding in Kenya?

I am actually a Kenyan but living abroad with my fiancee we are looking at having a wedding in August 2009.

I want my day to be perfect because am a perfectionist and unfortunately I can't find someone to rely on and the hotel websites don't help much in terms of hiring for a ceremony.

Please someone advise me what to do. If possible, I want a wedding venue soon so as to do my bookings.

I love the ocean and the beach front so my perfect wedding picture will be right there...

Hi Lorna.
Congratulations on your wedding.
I am based in Nairobi and interested in doing the same thing (getting married at the coast).
Just wondering how the wedding went and which hotel / planners you used.
Really appreciate any advice / tips you can give.

hi Lorna, if you're looking for a beach wedding, it shouldn't be too difficult. Many of the major beach hotels north and south of Mombasa have a wedding service, or have ties to a good wedding service.

So I would make a short list of a few good beach hotels - those where you'd like to stay even if you didn't have a wedding - and then call them and ask about their wedding services. Just use the hotel reviews at this page: http://www.kenya-advisor.com/hotels-in-mombasa.html - this list is very reliable!

For the legal stuff, you can check this page: http://www.kenya-advisor.com/wedding-kenya.html. For the rest, just click "Kenya weddings" in the menu of this site and start reading, everything is explained here! Good luck and after your wedding I'd love to hear from you how it all went!
