Both of them should work here. Safaricom is a local network which is a partner of vodafone UK so it should work. And Orange also has network here through Orange Kenya. So there should be no problems. Safaricom has a 3G network. They all support internet through EDGE and GPRS.

Bill, I think any major Western phone provider works in Kenya, they all have these standard contracts.
