Another accomplishment is in getting fibre optic links for broadband and high tech communications etc.
With this in place, along with improvements in education, then it should only be a matter of time before companies start to outsource services and call centres to Kenya (indeed already started with call centres I believe).
One aspiration of mine is to see Kenya one day being a big player in IT and software engineering. I would love to see the company I work for open an office there as it has in India.
One can but dream, but if it's going to happen in Africa then Kenya seems as well placed for this as any other African nation.

Free and compulsory schooling by: Arjen (webmaster)
One accomplishment that I should mention is the recent introduction by the government of free and compulsory schools for all in Kenya. Literacy in Kenya has always been high, with 85% of Kenyans being able to read and write, but this may even increase further now that schools have been made free (that is, funded by taxes) for everyone.
I'm sure others can mention many more accomplishments. Only think of the Kenyan runners who grab one golden medal after the other on the big world-wide sports events.
