Nairobi National Park

by Luke
(Korea)

I looked at your recommendation of tour operators, I sent an email to all of them on this subject, but I figure they might not do day tours.

I have a layover of 15 hours in Nairobi I arrive at 6am.

I was wondering if you knew of a good company that does this. I saw you said the price was $55 but I have been checking websites and the lowest price I saw was 110. Did the prices go up or are these just charging too much?

Thanks,
Luke.

Nairobi National Park tours
by: John Lambert

Hi Luke,

With a 15 hour layover you have plenty of time to see the park.

You can do it on your own or you can have a tour operator take you.

Submit an enquiry with www.africapoint.com and see
what their rates are if they'll pick you up at the airport and if you timetable matches theirs.

Hope this helps

Day tours to Nairobi National Park
by: Arjen (webmaster)

Hi Luke, Most tour operators in Nairobi will do tours to Nairobi National Park. As you cannot arrange your tour a few days in advance in Nairobi (as I normally would recommend) I would suggest you seek out an established tour operator with a good reputation. When you book ahead with cheap, shoddier tour operators things may not entirely work out well if you book a long time in advance.

The minimum amount of $55 a day was when I wrote that page 2 years ago and yes, unfortunately prices have risen considerably since then, among others because the government raised admission prices to the parks (which the tour operators pass to their clients). I need to update those pages soon, will do so when I return from a trip in 3 weeks. :-)
