Not known...

The mortality rate of the Turkana tribe is not known. Contrary to most Kenyan tribes, this tribe still lives a largely traditional lifestyle. Moreover, they are largely nomads (meaning they trek around). That's why precise figures on the number of Turkana, or other statistics, are simply not available. There's a 1999 population estimate that puts the number of Turkana around 200,000. It is believed that, despite a high infant mortality, the population is still growing.
