Think before you pack
by: Cassandra Marie

Hello,
Just wanted to make sure you are comfortable tossing whatever you can not take on the plane. Alot of times there is not big issue with bringing small liquids like shampoos and stuff on flights. They just need to meet the required sizes.

Just know that if they say no you will most likely have to toss it. For some that is the hard part. Tossing something you want to take but can't is hard and sometimes frustrating. So only bring the things you are ok with tossing IF you have too. I know a friend had a hard time tossing a brand-new bottle of hair spry and now she has learned not to bring that on her carry-on bag, checked is fine. So just think before you pack and just like what my friend said before....check with the airlines at the counter or by calling in.

CarryOn Liquids
by: Archie [Moderator]

Pepo,

Thankyou for your question. I dont think there is a problem about the carrying of crisps, cereal bars or biscuits into Kenya as generally there are bans on meat or dairy products on any airline all over the world. However you just have to be sensible and if you get your case opened and it contains thousands of cereal bars then you will have to explain why.

Regarding liquids etc on domestic flights then I am sure similar rules apply as they do all over the world. There are guidelines which can be found online and let me just say this - regarding domestic flights in Kenya - I have flown from Nairobi to Mombasa and was served with tea and biscuits - there was no need to take on board any of my own liquids.

If there is a medical reason or mother/baby bottle of milk then you just let check-in desk know before boarding.

Regards

Archie
