I dont know about figures. But in almost all the cities there is internet access as well as in the more developed villages.
If you have electricity at home/ office you can have internet, either with the telephone cable or wireless (if available.)
There are many internet bureau's where you can surf for as little as 1 shilling per minute. The connection is often very slow and when electricity goes of the intneret connection is gone unless they have a generator. So always store your work in between!
There are some providers for internet at home and for your mobile. ( Zuku, Safaricom)

Internet access by: Arjen (webmaster)
There are some figures on internet access in Kenya. E.g. one publication from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) says that in mid 2009, 8.6% of Kenyans had internet access.
It's not clear to me how they define internet access, however. Only a minority of Kenyans may have a computer with internet access at home. But even the smaller towns and villages often have an internet cafe where everybody can surf the internet for cheap rates. A surprisingly high number of Kenyans have email address etc.
One factor in this is that landline phones (which you need for internet access if you don't have cable internet) aren't very widespread in Kenya among private homes. There are only about 250,000 landline phones. But mobile phone usage has skyrocketed. According of official sources, about third of all Kenyans (but maybe more) have a modern mobile phone and in the southern (populated) part of Kenya the GSM coverage is very good. So when surfing the internet using mobile phones will become cheaper and easier, Kenyans won't have to go to internet cafes to go online.
