Information about Bungoma in Western Kenya

by Comfort
(Kumasi, Ghana)

I'm looking for some knowledge about this place:
1. How can I access the town?
2. How's the climate condition?
3. What kind of beliefs do people have?
4. The lifestyle of the people and their educational background?
5. Are the inhabitants friendly?
Many thanks.

Bungoma
by: Arjen (webmaster)

Bungoma is in Western Kenya, right at the border with Uganda. It's multi-ethnic and has various religious groups. Most are Christians of various denominations (Catholic and Protestant), while a minority are Muslims (there are 4 mosques in town). The climate is wetter than average in Kenya. It's not as hot as the coast area.

The train on the Ugandan-Kenyan railway stops there. You can also get a local flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Eldoret or Kisumu, and then Bungoma is still one hour driving. From Nairobi to Bungoma is about 450 km.
