Are you planning a trip to Kenya? Or taking an interest in the country for other reasons?
This website offers independent information. Unlike all too many government and official tourist websites, with their obvious interests, I won't hide the negative things behind the positive. As a professional journalist I'm telling it like I found it.
The No. 1 Safari Country
Kenya, in East Africa, has earned it’s reputation as the safari capital of the world. It maintains a system of well-managed, huge national parks, where you can spot lions, elephants, buffaloes and giraffes in the wild.
My Safari Guide will tell you everything you need to know to get the most out of your safari.
The scenery is often breathtaking - Kenyan wildlife resorts are among the best of Africa. During your safari, you can camp in the parks or stay in luxury lodges or tented camps – right between the wild animals.

The Best Beaches Of East Africa
The country is also known for it’s 500 kilometres of white sand and palm tree beaches along the Indian Ocean. It has many fine and very affordable beach resorts, where you can wake up in your private beach cabin and have breakfast while overlooking the ocean. On the better places, you'll have the beach practically to yourself.
The coast also allows for some world-class diving or sailing in traditional dhow vessels. The fresh sea food at the coast is just delicious. And culturally, the coast has lots to offer too – African, Arab and Indian cultures have mixed for ages here, creating the world famous Swahili culture and language.
It’s possible to visit traditional tribes like the Masai or Samburu throughout the country, as well. Even if you don’t know it, you have probably seen pictures before of these proud, tall warriors dressed in red, who are famous for their jump dances. They still live in straw huts, herd cattle and perform their daring rites of passage like their ancestors have been doing for thousands of years. They can tell visitors about their customs and beliefs, and perform dance ceremonies for them.
Visit the photo gallery or the movies page if you’d like to get an idea of what Kenya is all about. Or scroll through the travel story archive – a great place to get excited about your upcoming trip!

But Make Sure Your Trip Is Well Prepared!
A trip to Kenya isn’t your rank-and-file vacation. If you’re coming from North America, Europe or Australia, then Africa is just another planet.
You have to be well prepared. Because not everything in Africa is all sunshine. Kenya also has a major problem with corruption and poverty, and you have to be well informed about the famous bargaining (or you'll pay triple the price), about conmen (easy to spot once you know how), food security, which places are safe and which are not, and on...
Official websites are not so eager to point this out to you. But don't worry - once you have read this website, you'll be fully prepared and the chances that something unpleasant will happen to you, are really very small. Here's much practical information, including safety, money, visa, health, transport and the likes.
All in all, you can find all the information you need to prepare your trip right here. If you appreciate this site, leave your comment in my guest book.
