This is exactly the kind of thing I am seeking to learn! Funny, I found out she likes a certain tea from Kenya and bought it online and gave it to her. A big hit! I am starting to get a sense that family ties are very important. Much different that in the U.S.

I was already hoping that you'd chime in, Archie, since you obviously have some experience in this field... (Archie is engaged to a Kenyan lady).
best wishes

Dating in Kenya by: Archie [Moderator]
James,
Thankyou for your question and I hope we can all give you a good answer.
Dating in KENYA is just the same as dating in the rest of the world. You meet, you ask, you get a yes or a no. Sorry to make it boring but Kenyan women have their well established dating rites when they meet someone who is a candidate for further exploration. [hahaha]
Beware! If you are invited to the family home [Mum/Dad/Sisters/Aunts/Brothers and Uncles] then you have passed the exploratory stage and you are now in the commitment area. Its ok and you can just smile but do not forget to take rice/flour/soap bars and tea with you. Its a matter of respect to your girls parents.
Hope this helps and am sure Irene [Co Moderator]is smiling
