hair dryers and doing your hair by: Cassandra Marie
Hello,
I laughed at your question when I read it because I have asked the same one!
The truth is it is Africa! You may have the chance to at your accommodation or you may not. As stated before you could but only for set times, really it is hit or miss. But that is ok! If you have the goal of having clean hair that will happen but how it is dried....that, well can come in a number of ways.
Every time I have gone to Kenya I have taken a shower at night. Let my hair dry naturally and do something to it in the morning. This works for me because I have short hair. The girls that have long hair that have come with me try to take showers in the morning. Then air dry their hair while getting ready and eating breakfast. To each their own in preference. Once you get to where you will be staying you will just have to see what is going to work.
Also hats, scarves, and headbands are a huge help! So pack what you have. When it is windy and dusty the scarves and hats are a god sent. When you have no time nor electricity to do your hair headbands work wonders!
Hope you have a great trip! Please let us all know how it was!

Hairdryers by: Irene O.
Most lodges do have electricity but mostly because of generator. So there are certain times that the electricity works.
Can imagine if you return from a gamedrive that you want to shower and dry your hair. But often it is not needed your hair will dry itself fast.
Some lodges do have hairdryers.

Susan,
Any lodges I have stayed in have all had 220v power outlets and sometimes even hair dryers supplied. Please make sure you take a multi-pin power adaptor which not only includes 3 square pin but also 2 round pin and 2 flat pin. The only other problem is power outages which can happen at any time so wash and dry your hair while there is power available.
