Incorrect language used about Kamba foods by: Anonymous
The person writing this below is mixing Kiswahili words like "ugali" and "maize" and Kikuyu words like "getheri" as Kambas don't have "r" in their alphabet.
I am not Mkamba but I was married to one and lived in Kenya for over 3 years. So I don't profess to be an expertise.
Kambas are farmers and their staple food is isyo also known as githeri, maize(corn) mixed with beans or peas - as these can be dried, stored and eaten during the frequent droughts. Corn is also ground to make ugali, a popular Kenyan food. During the rainy seasons and along the riverbeds, Kambas grow fruits and vegetables such as cabbage, collards, bananas, mangoes, oranges and other tropical edibles. Goat meat, chicken and beef are also popular food choices among the Kamba people.

Ugali and Broth by: Archie Melrose
Kamba food - Reading your good food guide it occurred to me that Scottish food is just the same. We have broth made from stock and beans/peas/veg and we dip our bread in the mix for a healthy food.
Some things are worldwide and its good to know that Kamba are related to Scotland.
Smiling
Archie

Kamba tribe by: Cassandra Marie
Hello,
Here is some info on the Kamba tribe....
The Kamba tribe (also called the Akamba) is a Bantu ethnic group residing in the semi-arid Eastern Province of Kenya. Their homeland stretches east from Nairobi towards the Tsavo and northeast to Embu. Kambas make up about 11 percent of Kenya's total population. They speak the Kamba (or Kikamba) language.
