Finding workers from Kenya?

by Eyhab
(Saudi Arabia)

I am trying to find good quality workers from Kenya. One family driver, & two domestic helpers.

What are the top manpower agencies in Kenya? How much are the salaries?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My Response
by: Archie Melrose

Dear Eyhab

Thankyou for your mail and its predictable response to my headline. In fairness I have done some research regarding the employment of Kenyans, especially women, in Saudi Arabia, and in each month of this year there have been media reports which do not make good reading. In March of this year questions arose in the Kenyan Parliament regarding exploitation and abuse of Kenyan citizens while working in your country. I copy below for your information :

Nairobi — Parliament's Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations is investigating claims of cruel labour practices against Kenyans working in Saudi Arabia.

Addressing a news conference at Parliament's Continental House, Committee chairman Aden Keynan said reports of rape and killings of Kenyan workers in the Gulf state had reached alarming levels.

Now Eyhab, you stated that I have pre-packaged judgements but I would suggest to you that you are not aware of the numerous reports of harm and abuse meted out to Kenyan citizens who decide to work in your country on the promise of a better life. All the evidence suggests that domestic servants?? in Saudi Arabia have less human rights than they had in their own country.

I do have some questions for you - Why concentrate on Kenyan workers? Is there a shortage of domestic help in Saudi Arabia? Or is it easier and cheaper to find some poor black woman or man from some African country to clean up your house?

There is no doubt in my mind that you will find what you seek and perhaps you do have a compassionate nature. I would really love to hear from those who have made the journey and are happy with their situation. I am open to hear their comments.

Finally, if I have offended you I apologise and trust that your future contributions will be less confrontational.

Regards

Archie

Say Good or Shut Up!
by: Eyhab

Dear Archie,

Putting such a headline for your poor comment shows your prejudice against us. You have no idea about me or the conditions in which the help will work & live in! However, you took the liberty to brand the issue as slave labour!!!

Archie, this site is for the exchange of information about Kenya & not a platform to voice your sick mind's pre-packaged judgments about other people! Besides, are you so perfect yourself or your people that you can simply pass judgment on others?

Respect the readers, respect yourself & say good or [PROFANITY REMOVED].

The webmaster has covered it. This is a major issue and one that does not qualify for a response from myself.
