Irene is completely correct. No postmen like we have in UK. Post Box numbers are the norm apart from courier companies who will deliver to their depots and they may deliver to commercial premises as well as long as the name and street is on the package.

postboxes by: Irene O.
In Kenya most people and companies have a postbox Not even everyone. A postbox you have to hire and pay for on a yearly base. You collect your mail and when it is parcel you collect it with a notification in your postbox. You then have to collect it often from another postoffice the main office.
There is not postman or someone to deliver mail from door to door as we know here in Europe. You can sent parcels through mail express or DHL but still use the postbox number. Unless you sent a parcel to a company located in a street with a name.. In Nairobi, Mombasa and other big cities the town center has mostly names but I have never seen an number.. I guess they write the name of the company, the postbox and adress of the street and get it delivered but not by postman..
