Decreasing Species in Kenya?

by Sonam
(Kenya)

I wanted to know that why have different species in kenya been decreasing due to the destruction of habitats, expansion of cities, pollution, deforestation, global warming and introduction of invasive species and many deaths thereby imposing serious threat to biodiversity?

Mans Influence
by: Archie Melrose

There is no doubt in my mind that MAN'S influence in all of the areas of your question has a profound effect. It can be found all over our world from the deforestation in S. America to the same in far Eastern countries.

The ethos of land grabbing is a hot issue and will continue to be so in Kenya until the incumbent politicians realise that the people of Kenya deserve more.

Time and time again I have questioned why we need NGO's to intervene in so many areas of Kenya. Why? The rest of the world looks on and questions.

But do not despair, despite the dead fish in Naivasha, despite the deforestation in Mau, despite the volcanic ash which blights air travel, Kenya will rise again and be proud amongst the nations of Africa.

I am waving my flag now.

Regards

Archie

Why, oh why?
by: Arjen (webmaster)

hi Sonam,

I think you gave the answer yourself - the cause is...

"...the destruction of habitats, expansion of cities, pollution, deforestation, global warming and introduction of invasive species..."

So what precisely is your question?
best wishes
Arjen
