Day tour from Nairobi to Mount Kenya by: Tropic Tours & Travel
Dear Archie,
Its not possible to get to Mount Kenya and get back to Nairobi on the same day. It will be a rush to rush activity which is not recomendable. he best option is to overnight.
Good day.

Nairobi to Mt Kenya by: Archie [Moderator]
Thankyou for your question.
Peter is absolutely right and if you want to see Mt Kenya close up it will involve a night stop somewhere.
I guess a lot depends on whether you have your walking boots with your or just want to view the mountain from afar and take pictures.
My ideal short tour would be this - Leave Nairobi early [6am] miss the worst of the traffic and stop at Delamere, Naivasha [Restaurant] for breakfast, a stop enroute on the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment is awesome. Carry on to Nakuru after Delamere arriving well before midday. Book in to hotel [Names available from Peter or myself], have lunch at the poolside, wander up and down Kenyatta Avenue and try not to spend too much. Get picked up and take a tour into Nakuru National Park - Cameras out for the rhinos and flamingoes etc - grab afternoon tea at one of the lovely lodges in the park - back to your own hotel before sunset.
If you decide to arrive on a Friday then after your evening meal grab a taxi off to the Summit Hotel for great dancing the night away music.
Morning an early start and off to Nyahururu [Thomsons Falls]- about 1hr 30mins - and enjoy a short time there before moving on towards Mount Kenya.
Now this is where I am not sure of timings but am sure someone else can help. Is there enough time to get near to Mount Kenya and still get back to Nairobi same day???
Happy Travels
Archie

Day tour from Nairobi to Mount Kenya by: Tropic Tours & Travel
Dear Visitor,
Mount Kenya region requires an overnight so that you can enjoy well and also due to the driving from Nairobi - from Nairobi to Mt. Kenya is approximately 4 hours one way.
The best place to visit for a day tour is Lake Nakuru National Park as its closer to Nairobi and also it has alot to offer in terms of game and the beautiful scenaries - from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru is approximately 2 hours drive one way which makes it the best option.
