My name is Irene Okech, Iam one of the moderators of this forum, and very pleased to answer the questions I know. Iam also a qualified wedding planner located in the Netherlands but with a great team in Kenya. Iam the right person to answer your question.
I have been doing research about prices before I started. The allowances for a wedding planner are a certain percentage of the total amount of what the couple want to spent for the wedding. Or they agree a fixed amount beforehand depending on the agreement concerning the services the wedding planner has to do.
A wedding planner can organise everything for the couple, the location, the flowers, the invitations, the catering, the rings and wedding dress ( together with the bride), the decorations etc. She or he can be the wedding coordinator at the wedding day, directing the guests, checking the venues, the restaurant, the location where the reception is etc or she or he can attend the wedding day for certain agreed hours.
Ivory and Pearls is not working with a percentage of the total amount. We do work with a fixed amount depending on the services requested. We offer also some services for free and have several packages starting from low budget to absolutly top notch. And our fee is included within the package.So never any suprises afterwards. You can then add certain 'pearls 'to complete your wedding day according your personal wish which are all nett prices.
Ivory and Pearls has the headoffice in The Netherlands but also has an office in Mombasa and soon open one in Nairobi. We do have our own weddingplanners, work with freelancers for facilities.
