The Turkana are one of the few tribes in Kenya (next to e.g. the Masai and Samburu) who still have a traditional African lifestyle. That's why there are few Christians among the Turkana. The traditional Turkana religion is focused on the god Akuj. The Turkana pray to him or through the spirits of ancestors. He is especially turned to when rain is needed, and the Turkana will sacrifice animals then to please him.
