Thanks for your question and yes Cassandra is right and my work colleague applies for his vacation visa through the London Kenya Embassy every time he travels. It takes a couple of weeks to process and is probably a good option if you do not want to stand in queues on arrival.
Confession time - personally I have been lazy and never done it that way. There is something intangible, something that can not be measured or quantified about sitting on the plane and releasing all the tensions and stresses of our lives and on touch down at Nairobi you enter a whole new world. The queue at Immigration can be long or short depending on arrivals from other aircraft but its good to have time to soak in the atmosphere after a sterile plane journey.
I guess I am a Type B personality [just saw that recently] but as soon as my feet touch Kenyan soil I am totally relaxed, happy to watch and wait. I guess its the manyana attitude but it works and its part of the Kenyan culture.
Happy Travels

I think so... by: Cassandra Marie
I believe can. I know I got mine (twice) before I left the US. The embassy website had all the info on what do and where to send in you passport too. To make sure my passport was back in time I sent it out a month away from my flight date. Here is a link to the embassy in London. Hope it has all the helpful stuff the US one had for the visa process. Safe travels and best of luck.
