Trip to Governor's Camp in Masai Mara (will cost an arm and leg but for a honey well worth it)
Manda Island in Lamu - probably the best beach in Kenya (and I am comparing it to South Coast Mombasa and Watamu).
If Manda is out of your budget, take a trip to Watamu (Turtle Bay or Hemingways).
Or try Mfangano Island on Lake Victoria.

Note these recommendations are not advisable if you are budget conscience as each of the trips will come in well over 80K)

Rustic
by: Cassandra Marie

If you are wanting something that is rustic and low-key you should look at Lake Nakuru. The Lake Nakuru Lodge is very nice and you can enjoy the time looking at animals and town is close for a day trip. Also I have not been yet but will do on my next trip......Masai Mara is a large national game park. More on the "higher end" then Nakuru. Hope you have a great time! Blessings on your marriage.

I can recommend a good wedding planner...
by: Arjen Koopman (webmaster)

hi Miriam,

I'm not married so I can't recommend any particular venue in Kenya for getting married... But I can recommend one Kenyan wedding planner, Irene Okech. Like me she's originally from the Netherlands (but married to a Kenyan) and she knows all the good spots in Kenya to get married. Find out more about Irene here:

And let us know how your marriage went by posting here!
