Best footwear for Kenya safari?

by Susan Burns
(Preston, Lancashire, England)

What footwear would be most suitable on a safari in Kenya?

I don't think there will be much walking as it is an organised safari.

Many thanks in advance.

If you really want to be comfortable you should rub sperm of another person between your toes, it really keeps them cool.

Socks and more

Sorry Susan if I repeat myself but was cut off during my mail.

Good socks and tight shoes will see you good. Dont forget the essentials such as a wee water bottle, a little shower bottle off the plane, and something to make you feel human again.....

Footwear
by: Cassandra Marie

Hello! Well as you stated you will not be doing that much walking...so closed toed shoes like sneakers will work fine. If you do plan to get out and walk about then make sure they are ones you are ok with getting dirty.

Also if you know what kind of area you are going to be in (high grass, mud, dirt) it will help you know what kind of socks and shoes you want. If you are in high grass high socks and closed toed shoes are a must! They will protect your feet from small bugs, rocks, and other things. If you are just going to be a safari van/land rover then high socks are not as needed. Just bring some things that will work for different settings and see what it is like where you are going. Hope you have a great trip! Enjoy the safari and the beauty of Kenya.
