Becoming a professional wedding planner?

by Emily Kemunto
(Nakuru, Kenya)

My name is Emily Kemunto. I currently reside in a small town in the Rift Valley called Nakuru. I just turned twenty and am a second year student doing Business Administration at Kenya Methodist University in the same town.

I have always aspired to become a wedding planner but where I reside there are no institutions that enhance this passion of mine and I just wondered if you could just give me a headstart on where to begin, who would be most resourceful to me, and if there are classes that I need to undertake. Hope you could be of assistance.

Thank You for taking the time to read my message.
Emily Kemunto.

Ashley's Events is based in Nakuru, and is owned and operated by husband and wife Moses And Julie. They are Certified Wedding Planners.
So if you are looking for a wedding planner in Nakuru and its surroundings dont hesitate to contact them. They have a great website at http://www.ashleys-events.co.ke

Not only are they the best wedding planners in Nakuru they have a large inventory of wedding supplies. From the latest tents, chairs, drapery, linens. cutlery, just to mention a few.

Dont say I never told you!!!!!

Check Samantha's Bridal and some place called Beautiful Weddings Africa - both in Nairobi. None out of Nairobi.

Wedding Planner
by: Archie Melrose

Emily,

I think Irene touched on all the points and its from her experience that she can do that.

I will be in Nakuru next month and with my fiance Peris it would be good to meet with you and have a good conversation and perhaps advise you further on your way forward. There is no doubt in my mind that Nakuru needs a good Wedding Planner

Go around Meric, Cathay and Bontana Hotels and find out if they do good rates. There are many other hotels as you know but its up to you to find out and figure out the costs.

Regards

Archie

Professional wedding planner
by: Irene O.

Dear Emily, this question is for me..
I always loved to organise events creating that something special to make people happy.

I have organised holidays for the last 10 years for travelers to Kenya and Tanzania and felt that I wanted to do something different. I witnessed many couples getting married in Kenya in beach hotels and realized that there are so many beautiful venues in Kenya to have your dreamwedding.

I got my wedding planner diploma by doing a course at home. It was really so interesting and inspired me more to succeed to become a professional wedding planner. I know in Nairobi there are instutitions with the wedding planner courses. But for now you could start to study at home and I will deliver you a course in English. In the meanwhile Emily read Samantha's wedding guide with lots of tips. If you want to focus in a certain area like Nakuru then visit florists, visagists, wedding locations etc. I would love to help you to become a professional wedding planner.

I have found my goal, my passion and for me to go to work is a pleasure!

If this is where your interest is and would love to do go for it.. If there is anything you really want to do you will succeed...

Maybe you can sent a message to the webmaster with your contact details so that I can get you a course.

Hope this helps you,

Kind regards

Irene Okech
