Here's what you need for this recipe:
- 1 kg. of fresh meat (cow/goat/lamp/wild game)
- 200g Ghee
- 2 large onions
- 1 tea spoonful Salt
- 1/2 liter water
First cut the meat into long thin slices, then salt the meat, then sun dry it for five or so days, until the meat is compeletely dry and hard.
Then try to break it into smaller peices if you can.
To cook, put the ghee to melt in a big enough pan, then add the sliced onions and let it cook until the onions start to brown. then add the water and let it heat until it starts to boil. Then put in the meat pieces, of whole if you couldnt chop it to smaller pieces. Add some water to cover the meat just a little.
Then let it boil over moderate heat for 1 hour.
When ready, it can be served with sukuma wiki or any other traditional Kenyan vegetables and ugali.
